We are bringing back mini talks to the Fiesta

Former CDEC board member Sal Quintanilla was an outstanding volunteer who focused on education about the smaller creatures of the Chihuahuan Desert at the fiesta, Zoo events, school groups and all kinds of venues across the city including Fort Bliss and Rio Bosque Wetland Park.

Zoo Volunteers like the late Sal Quintanilla were an inspiration for many who have helped to make the Chihuahuan Desert Fiesta what it is today. You can see him in action below on a YouTube video at the Tom Mays Section of Franklin Mountains State Park where Texas Parks and Wildlife hosted our event from 2004-2019. This year we are bringing back a schedule of mini talks at the Chihuahuan Desert Fiesta in the Jaguar Training Amphitheater. Zoo Education Specialist and Zoo Camp Coordinator, John (Jack) Scordato, will moderate the talks.
