Over 80 people have signed up for the 18th Annual Chihuahuan Desert Fiesta Franklin Mountains Hikes on Sunday, September 25, 2022. There is still time to register for this hike and others. Some hikes are filling up fast so be sure to register soon.
Elite Hiking Team Founder Laura Rosales will lead the Lower Sunset Trailhead hike. Laura is an El Paso native that has been hiking the Franklin Mountains since 2015. Hiking has changed her life for the better and she wanted to share it with everyone so she began volunteering for Texas State Parks and co-organizing hikes in 2017. Since then, she started Elite Hiking Team on Facebook where she organizes guided hikes, post information about hiking safety and can also be used as a resource page for anyone who has questions about our trails. She has over 450 volunteer hours for Texas State Parks. Be prepared and ready to have fun!
Day One of the Chihuahuan Desert Fiesta will be at the El Paso Zoo on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10:30 to 3:00pm and Day Two on September 25 will be at Franklin Mountains State Park, Tom Mays Unit on the west side of El Paso off of Loop 375.
