Former Texas Governor Ann Richards was the most prominent politician in Texas to support wolf recovery in the wilderness areas of West Texas. What needs to happen to bring back this apex predator to the northern Chihuahuan Desert?
Free Presentation – Thursday, August 7, 7pm, Westside Regional Command Center – 4801 Osborne Dr. El Paso, Tx 79922

Chihuahuan Desert Education Coalition Co-founder and Board of Directors chair, Rick LoBello, has been championing the return of the wolf to the Texas wild since 1978 when his good friend Roy McBride invited him to his ranch to see a recently wild caught Mexican wolf.
Little did Rick know that the wolf he saw and photographed with an 8mm camera would soon go extinct in the wild and be the male founder for ongoing conservation efforts in New Mexico, Arizona and northern Mexico.
The last recorded Mexican wolf in Texas was killed by a trapper east of El Paso over 45 years ago. In Texas today wolves only live in Zoos. Will the day ever come that they are released into the wilds of the Big Bend Country and allowed to live in harmony with nature as they have for tens of thousands of years.
