Join the 2025 Pollinator BioBlitz in Ciudad Juárez
What is a BioBlitz?
It’s a citizen science effort aimed at documenting as many pollinator species as possible.

How does it work?
To achieve this, members of the CDEC will be participating in and organizing a new event in honor of Pollinator Week. The group Voces de la Ciencia Juarense has launched two events for this weekend focused on the exploration and importance of pollinators in the green areas of Ciudad Juárez.

The first event will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Botanical Garden at Parque Central in Ciudad Juárez. We’ll go on an easy-level walk to discover the park’s pollinators, along with artistic activities and oral storytelling about nature.

The second event will be on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. at Casa de Adobe in Ciudad Juárez. We’ll begin with an intermediate-level walk to search for pollinators found along the banks of the Rio Grande and surrounding areas.

We invite the entire border community to attend either of the two events. Both are free and open to the public.
You don’t need to be an expert to learn how to explore your surroundings!

What do you need for these events?
A smartphone with the iNaturalist app to record bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, moths, beetles, wasps, bats, and flies.
Remember to wear proper clothing and footwear, bring water and sun protection, and always respect biodiversity — do not remove anything from the sites.

We’ll be waiting for you! Don’t miss it!
